The Cybex Research Institute (CRI) is led by Dr. Paul Juris, a noted kinesiologist specializing in education, motor skill development, sports performance enhancement, rehabilitation, and intuitive program development.
Paul works with scientists and engineers at Cybex, as well as academic research partners and distinguished fitness professionals, to provide the science for new products, deliver exercise research and education to the fitness industry, and create outstanding educational programming.
Paul was previously Vice President, Science and Education, at PGA Kinematics Lab. He served as Director of the Equinox Fitness Training Institute, where he created programming to support over 500 personal trainers in 18 clubs nationwide. His clinical experience includes a position as Kinesiologist/Research Coordinator for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He has also provided extensive sports development, rehabilitation, and educational consulting for organizations including the NBA, NHL, USTA, US Cycling Federation, the PGA, and US Equestrian Team.
He earned his Doctorate in Motor Learning from Columbia University in 1993, followed by a variety of positions in higher education, rehabilitative medicine, professional sports, and fitness. Paul was named Chief Science Officer of the Cybex Institute for Exercise Science in August of 2015.
